Striped Butterfly

Posted by
Stunner (Kingston, Jamaica) on 25 August 2009 in Animal & Insect.

The Zebra Longwing Butterfly, scientific name, Heliconius charithonia. The butterfly ranges over parts of North, Central and South America, as well as the West Indies.[2] In North America the butterfly is found in the southern parts of the United States

This is my best butterfly picture yet! I find it so hard to photograph these insects as they are always on the move, but this time I got a crisp shot. Not a perfect one, but better than the last one by far.
