National Fruit

This is a picture of a young Ackee fruit, that I took a little after the Dasheen shot I posted previously. The Ackee is the national fruit of Jamaica and is used to make Jamaican's national dish, Ackee and Salt Fish (Cod Fish). The fruit in this state is very poisonous and should not be eaten until it is ready. When the fruit is ready to be eaten, the pod opens exposing the fruits and the seed.
