Rasta on the Wall

This is a wooded carving of the head of a Rastafarian, also called Rasta, Ras and Dread. The Rastafarian is one of the cultural trademarks of Jamaica, made famous by Bob Marley. This was just outside the room at the hotel I stayed, Doctor's Cave hotel.

Makes me think of the Rastafarians in Ethiopia, invited there by the late emperor Haile Selassi, but now forming an isolated community there, do the Jamaicans still have contact with them?. Fine B&W photograph BTW.

@Illuci: I'm not sure. I think Rita Marley goes there. I'm not that familiar with the Rastafarian community.
