Another shot I took while touring Washington DC, earlier this year.

Ooooooooh that's one of very very few statues in the States. What a treasure you found it! I can't actually remember how many there are, but there's one in St. Louis, Missouri on the campus of Washington University at St. Louis. Just a little factoid for you. :)

hi what's-that-animal! yeah he looks like some kind of fusion of man and deer?Your framing is nice:)

@tyan: It looks like a rabbit and human fusion to me. Hmm maybe we can call it a Manbitt! lol!
Wow, very funny and original!

What an interesting shot Stunner!!! Very funny!

Thats a really fascinating statue and an interesting animal-human hybrid. Do you know anything about its history?

@Richard_Irwin: I have no clue. My friend was the one giving me the tour and she didn't know anything about it either as she recently moved to Baltimore.
Impressive statue.

Very nice one!

Nice composition and framing - it lends a sense of movement, of thought if not body. And it looks more like a rabbit than a deer to me.

Looks like a parody on "The Thinker" by Rodin. Great, because why thinking when doing will do more? Without doing every thinking is useless and there are so many professors with these ears walking around! (but: doing without thinking is in many cases not only useless but also dangerous, the other side of the coin). These are some thoughts, now the action!

haha so interesting he really is deep in thoughts.. a rabbit man?

@rainsocks: Yeah, a Manbbit! lol!
Whimsical, fun sculpture -- nicely photographed here.

Is this a rabbit with enormous ears? Cool take ;)

He's got nice ears. ;)

hummm so if this is a rabbit is this an interpretation of me deep in thought?... haha

@Rabbit: LOL!
very cool shot !! awesome find :o)

It really is reminiscent of The Thinker, but eerie. (Cue eerie organ-music here.) But the bright-green outdoors is just too pretty for the 'eerie' :)

Nice one!

Just cool - Alice in Wonderland perhaps?

This is a creepy anorexic looking animal. It is definitely worth taking a picture because it is strangely alien, but also familiar. Hope you had fun in DC.
