Jamaica Carnival 2007: Pichi Pachi

The Pichi Pachi saw me with the camera and turned to say cheese!

The Pichi Pachi is not a Carnival costume at all, neither is it originally a part of Carnival. The Pichi Pachi has been a part of the Jamaican culture for a long time now and is a part of the Junkunu band which is made up of several other characters. They normally go around parading through the streets of the rural areas during Christmas time, much to the horror of young children! But somehow the Junkunu band has found its way into the Carnival road march, normally leading the large throng of revelers.
